WHO IS BETTER AT BRINGING COLOR TO YOUR LIPS: LIPSTICK OR LIP GLOSS?
In the morning, half past six: the teeth are brushed, the eyeliner is reasonably good and time is slowly running out. Now quickly put some color on your lips and off you go. But wait - which product should you use? Lipstick or lip gloss? One sticks, the other runs? Au contraire! We show you the best way to get color on your lips.
LIP GLOSS - THE LITTLE SISTER OF
LIPSTICK?
Granted, a while ago lip gloss was
really uncomfortable. It stuck, was not very durable and caused problems when
it was applied because it was simply tough. But in the meantime the
manufacturers have reached into their boxes of tricks and performed magic.
Because the new lip gloss products
have been significantly improved in all of these points! The (semitransparent)
color is now very light on the lips, application has been simplified with an
applicator and many glosses even last up to eight hours thanks to the polymers
used! So has the little sister of lipstick become a real alternative?
BENEFITS OF LIP GLOSS
The name lip gloss comes from the
English word for gloss. Accordingly, the product does exactly that: It makes
the lips shiny and glamorous. This makes them look fuller and well-groomed. In
the meantime, however, there are also variants that are matte.
To increase the effect of fuller lips,
some lip glosses also contain traces of collagen or pepper. This promotes blood
flow to the lips, making them appear plumper for the moment. After a few hours
this glow disappears again.
Some lip glosses are almost
completely opaque - but their real charm lies in their transparency. This makes
the color light and suitable for everyday use. Incidentally, the wide range of
colors is another plus point. In the meantime, the lip gloss supplier often keeps up with the lipstick series without
any problems. There is something for every taste: very transparent nuances in
soft colors, very strong, berry or dark colors.
And speaking of taste - many of the
products also has a taste. Sometimes fruity, sometimes chocolaty. They often
also give off a corresponding scent. Some wearers love this property, while
others find it irritating.
